SFP+无源电缆组件是高达10Gbps的小型可插拔(SFP)互联的升级版本，该系统切合SFF(SFF-8431和SFF-8432)规范，支持8G光纤通道，10G以太网，InfiniBand™标准和以太网光纤通道(FCoE)应用 。与光纤光缆组件相比，SFP+直连铜缆为数据中央短距离互连应用提供了一种经济高效的解决计划 。
